Keyword Research Case Study: From Keyword Research To SEO Website Development
By Jon | April 14, 2009
If you’re confused on your keyword or niche keyword research and you don’t know where to begin, read on.
From the previous blog post that I made. I did promise to do a Video Recording keyword research on a certain niche based on the blog comments.
I choose the niche “Energy Healing” by YaMa’El Patterson because he did tell more about his efforts and what he’s trying to accomplish.
Anyways, I believe that whatever niche you’re in, you’ll learn a lot from the video below.
Here are the small portion that you’ll learn:
- How to PROPERLY use Google Adwords Keyword Tool in discovering actual search number.
- Why PAID keyword research tool SUCKS!
- Why most people miss the niche that could potentially bring them tons of money.
- How to accurately measure the keyword competition in 5 minutes or less.
- Tools and tricks in developing a new website.
I apologize for posting this video late. I have to move to from youtube.com to viddler.com to accommodate longer than 10 minutes video.

Jon,

In this video I saw that when you click on a link in Firefox, it opens in new tab..
Could you please tell me how do I do this?

Hi Orange.
As I did mention in my previous videos and books, seo tools are poor in analyzing the competition, that’s why there are tons of niches out there just waiting for those who do they’re job diligently.
Taqi, press control then click the link. That should do.

Thanks Jon..
As I understand you are saying Google Adwords Keyword Tool is accurate & I can rely on Google keyword tool for my keyword research.
Is that Correct?
Thanks.

Hi Jon,
Two quick questions.
If we target keyword energy healing & do SEO, how much time do you think it would take to rank?
And do you have any ebook on doing proper SEO?
Thanks…

Jon,
I am still waiting for your reply..
Do you have any ebook on doing proper SEO? or do you recommend any coursE?
Thanks!

Hi Taqi.
No I don’t. It’s really hard to publish an SEO book since search engines often change their algo everytime. This will outdate any book.
There’s also no way you can tell how long will it take to rank.

Hi Jon,
Once you have completed your keywords research( either by using a keyword tool or gathering them by seeing text source of ezine articles), how do you create the contents of your website’s pages? Is there a minimum keyword density for each pages to rank well.
If you outsource the creation of your website’s pages can you advice one outsourcer (full details)?
Can you give us a sample url of a site that you create?
Thanks,
Hakeem.

Hi Jon,
Your focus always seems to be on niche keywords, however, is there any reason you wouldn’t use the exact same strategy for more competitive, non-niche terms?

Thanks for the video Jon. Coupled with your Digging For Gold book it is an excellent resource.
At the end of the video you mentioned “the next version of my book”. Are you revising Digging For Gold?
I recently purchased your book and was wondering when the new version will be released.
Thank you for your insights on KW research.

Hi Jon,
I bought digging for gold ebook yesterday and it was great.
I saw the video and I have few queries.
1. You explained in the video that there are actually only 5 competitors which has good content with keywords “energy healing”. My question is other 5 competitors may have less content with less keywords, but they may have more number of backlinks with the anchor text “energy healing”. In that case, we can not neglect the other 5 competitors too. Do you agree with this? and how do we identify these backlinks with anchor text “energy healing”?
2. Does the number of backlinks to the homepage of a site will be considered while positioning any page of the site for a particular keyword? For example, if I have 100 backlinks to my homepage, Does these 100 backlinks contribute to position one page of my site with a particular keyword? Or it is only the anchor text backlinks that are considered?
Please let me know your answers for these questions. I am eagerly waiting to see your answers
Thank you.

Indu Priya
